Members of the DCCAG share some practical actions they have taken in their own lives.

After moving closer in to town one member wrote, “we chose a house 2 minutes from a bus stop and 6 minutes from the railway station, and now we are on gold cards, not only have we hugely reduced our fossil fuel use by leaving our cars in the garage, but it is also free – a great economic as well as carbon reduction decision.”

“we fully insulated our house (ceiling, underfloor and walls) and put a thermostat and timer on our central low-cost heating unit.”

“It has been difficult for our family to reduce our emissions, with both of us working full-time and one still at school…but if everyone made a few small changes that would help a great deal. One small change we made was to eat in-season vegetables to reduce imported food use.”
